Żywiec – April 27, 2017

In a local community club in Żywiec there took place a meeting with the residents of Żywiec concerning the history of the Jewish cemetery in the city. A voluntary caretaker of the cemetery, Eugeniusz Gradek, presented the story of a Jewish community in Żywiec, as well as the activity of The Lasting Memory Foundation.

 
Warszawa Bemowo – April 4, 2017

Zbigniew Niziński visited an elementary school with integrated classes in Warsaw and there carried out a lecture and presentation about his trips following the traces of the common history of Poles and Jews. The students were told the stories from the times of war about the Jews who had survived the Holocaust as well as the Poles with the title of the Righteous Among the Nations of the World. The children also became acquainted with preserved monuments of the Jewish culture as well as with searching for and commemorating the burial sites of the people murdered during the war.

 
Warszawa – March 25, 2017

In Warsaw a meeting took place between Zbigniew Niziński and the students from the town of Naharija in Israel. During the lecture and presentation, he introduced the actions which had been taken to commemorate the Holocaust victims as well as the Poles who rescued them. The students were shown the photographs of the actions of searching for so far uncommemorated victims, conducted by the Lasting Memory Foundation with the support of local residents.

 
Jastrzębia – March 23, 2017

In the Public Junior High School in Jastrzębia there took place a lecture and presentation concerning the actions of the Lasting Memory Foundation and a meeting between the students and Zofia Kamionowska – the Holocaust Survivor. The students listened to the story of Zofia’s life as well as her family who had been killed during the war and who do not have their own grave. The youth were also told about how significant it is to remember about the tragic times of World War II and to show cordiality and readiness to help other people in everyday life.

 
Wyryki – March 15, 2017

In a School Complex in Wyryki, the Lasting Memory Foundation hosted a meeting between the Holocaust Survivor Zofia Kamionowska and the students. The youth listened to the story of a Jewish child rescued by a Polish family during the war. They were also shown the photographs of the burial places of the war victims commemorated by the Foundation.
