Rozwadówka – September 16, 2016

At the initiative of the Lasting Memory Foundation, in the woods in Rozwadówka next to the burial place of 9 Jews executed by the Germans on 15 December 1941, there took place the ceremony of unveiling a memorial stone. The ceremony was attended by the residents of Rozwadówka, students from schools in Sosnówka and Motwica, the youth from Rishon Le-Zion in Israel as well as other guests.

Sosnówka – September 9, 2016

In the School Complex in Sosnówka, Zbigniew Niziński delivered a lecture and held a meeting with a 90-year-old witness to history, Mr. Józef. The teachers and students heard the stories of the lives of 20 Jewish families who had lived in the nearby town of Rozwadówka before the war. The participants learned about the events of December 1941 when the Germans in Sosnówka executed 7 Poles who were held hostage and 10 hostages in Rozwadówka, including 9 Jews.

 
Dzierzkowice Podwody – September 5, 2016

The Lasting Memory Foundation located a burial place of 13 Jews in Dzierzkowice Podwody. Next to the grave with the remains of two families, including 8 children, we set up a memorial stone. The unveiling ceremony was attended by the students of Junior High School in Dzierzkowice, the youth from Israel, local residents as well as other guests invited by the Foundation. The participants paid tribute to the dead with songs, poems and prayers.

Dołha – August 10, 2016

In the parish cemetery in Dołha there took place an unveiling ceremony next to the graves of Poles assisting Jews during the Holocaust. The Lasting Memory Foundation set up a memorial plaque over the grave of Wojciech Pachurka killed by the Germans in 1943 for assisting the Jews from Puchacze. In July 2016 the Yad Vashem Institute in Israel recognized him as the Righteous Among the Nations of the World.

Puchacze – August 10, 2016

In Puchacze three memorial stones erected by The Lasting Memory Foundation were unveiled in the places of the execution and burial of 23 Jews murdered by the Germans during the war. The victims were residents of Puchacze – 4 families, including 14 children. We engraved their names on the memorials. The residents of Puchacze and the ceremony guests paid tribute to the dead.
