Wolka Dobrynska near Terespol- July 16, 2009

The Lasting Memory Foundation organized a ceremony of unveiling the memorial in Wolka Dobrynska on 16 July 2009. The monument was erected over a mass grave of Jews murdered by the Nazis in 1943. It was founded by Harley Lippman, a member of the United States Commission for the Preservation of America's Heritage Abroad. 86 members of his family were killed during the Holocaust.







Among the participants of the ceremony were: Harley Lippman with his son Adam, the Chief Rabbi of Poland- Michael Schudrich, local authority representatives, clergymen and witnesses to the events of 1943. Zbigniew Nizinski from the Lasting Memory Foundation led the ceremony. The murdered Jews were prisoners of the working camp in Małaszewicze. In summer 1943, 150 Jews were executed byt the Nazis in Wolka Dobrynska. They were brought to the execution site in small groups and shot to death over the pit.
