Warszawa Aleksandrów – August 13, 2020

In a forest located in Warszawa Aleksandrów, The Lasting Memory Foundation set up a memorial plaque at the location of a Jewish cemetery established in 1935. During World War II it was completely destroyed by military actions and thus no matzevot were preserved.

The cemetery functioned only for a few years. During wartime it was the burial site of a great number of Jews from the Falenica ghetto. The cemetery occupies the area of 2,7 hectares, but most of the burials were conducted within 0,5 hectares. In the 1950s the area was converted into a forest.
