Stromiec – August 3, 2021 |
The Lasting Memory Foundation located and commemorated the burial place of Motel Zysmanowicz – the resident of Stromiec murdered by the Germans in 1942. Motel Zysmanowicz was born in Stromiec. He was a miller and merchant. In 1941 the Germans ordered the Jews from Stromiec to move to the Białobrzegi ghetto. Motel Zysmanowicz did not follow the command and for over a year he remained hidden in different places including the vicinity of the mill in Stromiec. In 1942 he was captured and executed by the German police. The locals buried his body at the site of execution. |
