Mrozowa Wola - 17 September, 2025

In Mrozowa Wola Village, The Lasting Memory Foundation along with a County Administrator’s Office of Węgrów commemorated the place of execution of 9 Jews murdered by the Germans on the day of 26th of November, 1942. The ceremony of unveiling the memorial plaque was attended by school delegations from the town of Stoczek and Magdenburg, the mayor of Stoczek, as well as the representatives of Polish Society of War Veterans and The Polish Association of The Righteous Among Nations.

The polish-german ceremony began with Józef Maliński, a representative of the Polish Society of War Veterans, recalling the tragic events that took place on the day of the 26th of November, 1942. A group of Jews from Stoczek was caught by the German forces while in hiding, after the liquidation of the local ghetto. They were transported to Mrozowa Wola and shot by the Germans in the center of the village. The only survivor was a 10-year old Chacia Farbiarz, who fainted during the execution.
The Foundation's president Zbigniew Niziński read the Chasia Farbiarz recounting, which the Foundation wrote down in 2011. Her mother, her two teenage cousins and other Jews from Stoczek were murdered during the execution. After running away, Chasia reached the house of Leokadia Radzymińska in Gajówka Wschodnia. Thanks to Leokadia Radzymińska and her son Mieczysław’s care she lived to see the liberation. In 1990 she honoured them with a title of The Righteous Among Nations. Chasia believed that she lived to carry on the memory of the extermination of the Jews and share the message that every human has the right to live freely in peace.
