The lasting memory Foundation organized a meeting between the witnesses to history and the youth in Serokomla School Complex. The audience was shown a presentation concerning the life of Jews in the Lublin area. Among the participants of the meeting were: a representative of the Chancellery of the President - Malgorzata Zaluska, the Chief Rabbi of Poland – Michael Schudrich, the local authority representatives, the Holocaust Survivor Marianna Adameczek, representatives of the Association of “Children of the Holocaust” in Poland, a daughter of Feliksa and Stanislaw Adameczek (the Righteous Among the Nations) and Zbigniew Nizinski from the Lasting Memory Foundation.

The school's headmaster, Tadeusz Drejka, welcomed the guests. Krzysztof Stępniak, Serokomla Commune Head, gave a speech about about the memory, identity and the common history of Poles and Jews who had lived together in the town before the war. Ewa Junczyk-Ziomecka , the Undersecretary of State at the Chancellery of the President, issued a letter to participants of the meeting. She recalled the tragedy of Serokomla Jews. On 22 September 1942 the Nazis executed about 200 Jews. The murder was committed by the German 101st Police Battalion. Among the victims was a mother, brother and sisters of Marianna Adameczek (former Blima Kurcant). Today, as a living witness to history, she told her story to the students. She is the only survivor of her 9-member family. Zbigniew Nizinski from the Lasting Memory Foundation carried out a presentation on the Jewish history.
