At the invitation of the Institute of National Remembrance and Rzeszow City Hall, Zbigniew Nizinski from the Lasting Memory Foundation took part in a ceremony titled “Bringing back the memory of Poles rescuing Jews during the Holocaust”, held under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland Lech Kaczynski, on 9 February 2010.







The ceremony took place within the framework of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Those who had rescued Jews during the Nazi occupation were awarded the Commander's Cross of the Order of the Rebirth of Poland by the First Lady Maria Kaczynska and Undersecretary of State at the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland Ewa Junczyk-Ziomecka. Feliksa and Stanislaw Adameczek who had rescued two Jewish girls during the war, were decorated due to the Lasting Memory Foundation's continuous efforts. The couple's grandson Stanislaw and one of the rescued girls Marianna collected the decoration.
