The Jagiellonian University in Cracow organized an academic conference titled “Jews- memory and present”, which took place on 15 March 2010. At the opening, Zbigniew Nizinski from the Lasting Memory Foundation delivered a lecture and a presentation on the preservation of Jewish martyrdom sites as well as assistance to Jews during the Nazi occupation. The conference was held under educational and scientific guidance of Dr. Daniel Starzynski.

The conference consisted of three parts: Shoah and collective memory, Jewish culture from 19th century until today, Jews on Polish lands in 19th and 20th century. The conference had been organized by the Middle East Scientific Circle of the Jagiellonian University and the Middle and Far East Department of the Jagiellonian University.
